Wastewater Treatment
Wastewater is the flow of used water from industrial, commercial, or municipal sources. When water is used in a process it is susceptible to absorb organic & inorganic soils, metallic compounds, detergents, and a myriad of other potential contaminants. This becomes wastewater.
The treatment of industrial wastewater at the source is necessary to reduce the contaminants going to the municipal (sanitary) sewer system. Municipal systems are biological processes and are sensitive to excessive contaminants found in typical industrial wastewater.
Typical industrial wastewater contains one or more of the following contaminants.
- Suspended solids
- Heavy metals
- Oily waste (FOG)
- Biological/chemical oxygen demand (BOD/COD)
DuBois has a full line of industrial wastewater treatment products to effectively deal with most circumstances. Our product line includes:
- Coagulants-suspended solids removal
- Emulsion Breakers-treatment of oily wastewater
- Metal Precipitants-removal of chelated/complexed metals
- Flocculants-enhances settleability and water clarity
- Antifoams-control foaming during treatment
As in other water treatment applications, effective consultation with our customers on discharge issues involves the need for a total systems approach. As such, there is a need to address the various equipment components, such as clarifiers, filter presses, etc. DuBois has established relationships with equipment manufacturers, and will gladly communicate on the behalf of our customers.
